Light, Word, and People.
Created for Hillsong Evening College, a Bible school dedicated to exploring Scripture and deepening theological understanding.
The film is shaped by three themes: Light, Word, and People. Inspired by Exodus, light represents God's presence and authority. Intimate portraits place humanity at the centre, reflecting lives shaped by faith.
Scripture provides the foundation, with Psalm 119:105 guiding a visual exploration of revelation, identity, and the power of God's Word.

A Creative Turning Point
Light was central to the original concept, inspired by Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
During filming, the softer lighting approach wasn't creating the atmosphere we envisioned. Experimenting with our equipment led us unexpectedly to a lightning effect.
What began as a practical discovery became a defining visual motif, bringing the power and intensity of the film's biblical imagery into focus.

Stillframe is a creative studio working across commercial, editorial, and narrative filmmaking.
Founded by filmmaker Sebastian Reyneke, the studio brings together direction, cinematography, and editing, with a focus on intentional imagery, considered composition, and distinctive visual storytelling.
From developing original productions to collaborating with other filmmakers in post-production, Stillframe approaches every project with the same attention to craft, rhythm, and storytelling.
